General

What does V2S Services do?

We’re a Singapore home repair and handyman company. Our twelve services cover aircon, plumbing, electrical, handyman jobs, painting, flooring, carpentry, renovation, tiling, waterproofing, ceiling and wall works, and landscaping.

What types of homes do you work in?

HDB flats, condominiums and landed homes.

Can you handle a job that involves several trades?

Yes. Many jobs do, such as a bathroom leak that needs plumbing, waterproofing and tiling. We coordinate the work as one job with one quotation.

How do I get a quote?

WhatsApp, call or email us with what needs doing. Photos or a short video help. We quote from photos where we can, or arrange a visit if we need to see the problem.

Is there a charge for an inspection?

It depends on the job. We’ll tell you before any site visit whether an inspection charge applies.

What does the quotation include?

The scope of work, the price and the terms that apply. If anything changes once work starts, we explain it and confirm with you first.

How soon can you come?

It depends on the job and our schedule that week. Message us your preferred dates and we’ll confirm the earliest available slot.

Do I need to be home during the work?

For most jobs, someone needs to let us in and check the work at the end. We can discuss arrangements when booking.

Do you follow condo renovation rules?

Yes. Tell us your condo’s working hours and any approvals needed, and we’ll plan the work around them.

How do I pay?

Payment methods and terms are stated on your quotation and invoice.

Do you ask for a deposit?

For some larger jobs a deposit may apply. If it does, it is stated on the quotation before you agree to the work.

Which areas do you cover?

We serve customers across Singapore, subject to service availability and job requirements. Send us your postal code and property type, and we’ll confirm availability for your area.

Do you handle urgent repairs?

Message us on WhatsApp with photos and say that it’s urgent. We’ll tell you how soon we can attend; availability depends on the schedule that day.

What should I do while waiting for help?

For water leaks, turn off the water supply. For electrical faults, switch off the affected circuit if it’s safe to do so. For a leaking aircon, switch the unit off.

Air Conditioning

How often should my aircon be serviced?

Many Singapore households service their units every three to four months because of the humidity and daily use. Units that run for long hours, or homes with pets or nearby construction, may need it more often.

What is the difference between general servicing and chemical cleaning?

General servicing cleans the filters, coil surface and drain. Chemical cleaning uses a cleaning solution on the coil and blower to remove buildup that a normal service can’t reach. We only recommend chemical cleaning when the unit needs it.

Why is my aircon leaking water?

The usual causes are a choked drain pipe, a dirty coil or a unit that isn’t level. Send us a photo or video of the leak on WhatsApp and we’ll tell you what needs checking.

Do you service all aircon brands?

Tell us the brand and model when you contact us, and we’ll confirm whether we can service it.

Why does my aircon smell musty?

Mould and bacteria build up on the coil and blower in humid conditions. Cleaning the unit usually solves it.

Should I switch off the aircon if it’s leaking?

Yes. Switch it off, put a towel underneath to protect the floor, and send us a photo of the leak.

Plumbing

Can you clear a choked kitchen sink?

Yes. Tell us whether the sink drains slowly or not at all, and whether other drains in the home are affected.

Water is leaking from the unit above. Can you help?

We can inspect and tell you what we find, so you can discuss it with your neighbour or building management.

Can you tell me the cost before coming down?

For simple jobs like replacing a tap, a photo is often enough to quote. Leaks and blockages usually need us to see the problem first, and we’ll tell you that upfront.

My ceiling has water stains. Is it a plumbing problem?

It can be a leaking pipe or failed waterproofing in the bathroom above. We check which one it is before recommending any work.

Can you install a tap or mixer I bought myself?

Usually, yes. Send us the product details or a photo so we can confirm it fits your existing connections.

What should I do if a pipe is leaking badly?

Turn off the water supply at the main valve first, then WhatsApp us photos so we can advise on next steps.

Electrical

Can you install a ceiling fan on my existing light point?

Often, yes, if the ceiling and wiring can support it. Send a photo of the ceiling point and the fan model.

Why does my power keep tripping?

Common causes include a faulty appliance, moisture in a socket or an overloaded circuit. Note which appliance or area was in use when it tripped, and tell us when you contact us.

Can you install lights I bought online?

Usually, yes. Send us the product link or photos so we can check the mounting and wiring needs first.

Do I need a licensed electrical worker?

Electrical works should be carried out or supervised by an appropriately licensed electrical worker where required. Where required, V2S may coordinate with the appropriate licensed professional. We’ll tell you if your job falls into that category before any work starts.

A socket is scorched or smells burnt. What should I do?

Stop using it. Switch off that circuit at the distribution board if you can do so safely, then contact us.

Handyman

Can I book a handyman for several small jobs?

Yes. Send us the full list with photos, and we’ll tell you how long it should take and quote it together.

Do you bring tools and fixings?

We bring our tools and standard fixings. For items like shelves or curtain tracks, let us know whether you’ve bought them or want us to advise.

Can you drill into tiles?

Yes, with the right drill bits. Tell us where on the wall so we can plan around pipes and wiring.

Do you assemble furniture from IKEA and other stores?

Yes. Send us the product names so we can estimate the time needed.

Renovation

Do I need a permit for my renovation?

Some works in HDB flats need an HDB permit, and condominium managements usually require approval and set working hours. We’ll tell you what applies to your plans.

Can you renovate just one room?

Yes. A kitchen, a bathroom or a single bedroom can be done on its own.

How is a renovation quoted?

We visit, take measurements and discuss what you want, then send an itemised quotation for you to review.

Can I stay at home during the renovation?

For smaller jobs, usually yes. For kitchens and bathrooms, we’ll discuss how to keep part of the home usable.

Other Services

How long does it take to paint a room?

It depends on room size, wall condition and the number of coats. Send photos and room sizes, and we’ll include a time estimate with the quote.

Can I choose my own paint brand and colours?

Yes. Tell us the brand and colour codes, or ask us to suggest options for your room.

Do I need to move my furniture out?

No. We move furniture away from the walls where possible and cover everything before painting.

Can you paint over water stains?

Only after the source of the water is fixed, otherwise the stain comes back. If the leak is from failed waterproofing, see our waterproofing service.

Can vinyl flooring go over my existing tiles?

In many cases, yes, if the tiles are flat and firmly bonded. We check the floor before confirming.

Is vinyl flooring suitable for kitchens and bathrooms?

Waterproof vinyl and SPC can work in kitchens. Bathrooms with wet floors are usually better tiled. We’ll advise based on how the room is used.

Will my doors still close after new flooring?

New flooring adds a few millimetres. We check door clearance and trim doors where needed.

How long does installation take?

It depends on the floor area and how much preparation the base needs. We include a time estimate with the quote.

How long does custom carpentry take?

It depends on the design and the number of pieces, because items are made after measuring. We give you a timeline with the quotation.

Can you repair my existing cabinets instead of replacing them?

Often, yes. Hinges, doors, drawer runners and some panels can be replaced. Send photos and we’ll advise.

Will I see the design before you build?

Yes. We agree the layout and dimensions with you before fabrication starts.

What materials do you use?

Tell us your preferences and budget, and we’ll recommend suitable boards, laminates and fittings.

Why are my floor tiles popping up?

Tiles can lift because of temperature changes, poor bonding or movement in the floor. We check how many tiles are affected before recommending replacement or retiling.

Can you replace just a few cracked tiles?

Yes, if matching tiles are available. If they aren’t, we’ll suggest options.

Do I need waterproofing when retiling a bathroom?

Retiling a bathroom floor usually means redoing the waterproofing underneath. We’ll explain what your bathroom needs.

Do HDB bathroom tiling works need a permit?

Certain tiling works in HDB flats require a permit. We’ll tell you whether yours does.

How do I know if my bathroom needs waterproofing?

Signs include ceiling stains in the unit below, damp walls next to the bathroom and water seeping under the door. A leak check confirms the cause.

My neighbour says water is leaking from my unit. What should I do?

Contact us with photos from both units. We’ll check whether it’s a pipe leak or a waterproofing problem.

Do the tiles have to be removed?

Not always. Some seepage can be treated through grout and joints. Failed floor waterproofing usually means removing the tiles. We’ll explain the options after checking.

When can the bathroom be used again?

It depends on the membrane system and the curing and testing time. We’ll give you the timeline before work starts.

What is a false ceiling used for?

It hides pipes and wiring, creates space for recessed or cove lighting, and can make a room look more finished.

Can you repair a crack without redoing the whole wall?

Most cracks can be repaired and repainted locally. Cracks that keep coming back may need reinforcement, which we’ll explain.

Is a partition wall permanent?

Board partitions are lighter than brick walls and can be removed later. Ask us what’s allowed in your home.

Do I need approval for a false ceiling or partition?

It depends on the property type and the work involved. We’ll tell you what applies before starting.

Do you take away garden waste?

Let us know when you contact us. Waste removal can be included in the quote.

Which plants grow well in Singapore gardens?

Many tropical plants do well, but the right choice depends on sunlight and drainage. We can suggest options once we’ve seen the space.

Can you maintain my garden regularly?

Tell us how often you’d like maintenance, and we’ll quote for it.

Can you work on balcony planters?

Send photos of the planters and what you’d like done, and we’ll tell you what we can do.

Still have a question?

Message us on WhatsApp, call or email. We’ll get back to you with an answer.

How would you like to contact V2S?
